Betty Joyce (VanVleet) Clark, age 89, of Goodland, passed away Monday, February 26, 2018, at Citizen Medical Center in Colby, Kansas. She was born May 2, 1928 in Sherman County, Kansas to Edward and Frieda (Manteuffel) VanVleet. She grew up in Denver until the age of 17 and then she moved to Goodland. On March 11, 1946, she married Ralph James Clark in Goodland.
Betty worked for many years as a caretaker. She was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Goodland and the VFW Lady’s Auxiliary. Betty enjoyed sewing, gardening, crochet, knitting, art, ceramics, crafting, collected dolls and time spent with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-parents; husband; daughter Rebecca; grandson Little Jerry Vette; grandson Chris Albers.
She is survived by her daughters, Sherry (Jerry) Vette of Colby, KS; Annette (Bill) Knitig of Goodland, KS; Erlene (Jim) Albers of Colby, KS; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and expecting 1; 14 great-great grandchildren and expecting 2; and 1 adopted grandchild Devinee Borgmann.
Memorial service will be Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. MT at Bateman Funeral Home, 211 East 11th Street, Goodland with a private inurnment later in the Goodland Cemetery.
