Eleanor Ruth (Thomas) Kelley

Eleanor R. Kelley, of Goodland passed away Monday, December 11, 2017 at the Goodland Regional Medical Center.  She was born September 11, 1931, to Alvin and Gladys Thomas in Atwood, Kansas.  Eleanor grew up in Atwood where she attended school and graduated in the class of 1950.  On May 23, 1954 she married William (Bill) Kelley at the First United Methodist Church of Goodland.  For more than 20 years together Bill and Eleanor worked as maintenance and housekeeping at the Goodland Medical Arts Clinic, she also worked at Walker Jewelry. 

Eleanor was a member of the First Christian Church and she also enjoyed attending church at the United Methodist Church.  She always loved traveling, especially motorcycle trips and spending time with her dear friends and family. 

Eleanor is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Bill. 

She is survived by her nephew Kelley Rodgers (Sandy) of Goodland; cousin Richard King; step sons Gary Kelley of Whitewater, CO and James Kelley of Northglenn CO; two step granddaughters, one step great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. 

A memorial service will be Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. MT at Bateman Funeral Home, 211 East 11th Street in Goodland with Reverend Doug Amend officiating, a private inurnment will be later at the Goodland Cemetery.  Memorials will be designated to Homeward Bound Animal Rescue and may be left at the service or mailed to Bateman Funeral Home, P.O.
