Shirley Ann (Blue) Barnhart, age 75, of Goodland passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at Goodland Regional Medical Center.
Shirley was born October 9, 1944 to Purl Millard and Jessie Lydia (Dymond) Blue in Greeley, Colorado. She grew up and attended school in Goodland.
Shirley worked for the Goodland School District, 1980 to 1984 as a second-grade teacher’s aide, 1984 to 1986 a paraprofessional at Grant Junior High and she drove a school bus. For 28 years, Shirley worked at the State of Kansas Department of Transportation Weigh Station as a Motor Carrier Inspector II, she retired December 8, 2012.
Shirley was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, she enjoyed sewing, dabbled in genealogy and spending time with her friends and family.
Preceding her in death are her grandparents and parents; ex-husband, Maurice; and grandson, Nathan Barnhart.
She is survived by her son, Bradley (Mary) of St. Francis, KS; son, Jack (Wendi) of Colby, KS; daughter, Dee Anna Barnhart of Goodland, KS; daughter, Polly (Jerry) Norris of Salina, KS; grandchildren, Rickie and Joel (Krista) Bose; Jakalyn Glover and Joshua Barnhart; sister, Marie Blue Hevner Kleine of Gulf Breeze, FL.
