Tanner Ray Bussen, 39, of Gooding, Idaho, loving father, son and brother passed away at his home, Saturday, August 24, 2019, all too early. Tanner was born November 11, 1979 in Liberal, Kansas to Darius and Tracey (Parker) Bussen.
Tanner graduated in 1998 from the Wallace County High School. He attended the Auto Mechanics program at the Northwest Kansas Technical College in Goodland.
Tanner did not know a stranger for very long. He was extremely passionate and worked for many years as a heavy equipment mechanic. Tanner loved big tire pickups, mud bogging and anything and everything mechanical. His mother fondly reflects that he could fix anything with a motor. He had a love for racing where he was very successful. Tanner won many trophies as well as the respect of his peers in the racing community.
Tanner was also quick with a smart aleck comment or to tease you with a loving smile that was always followed by “You know I am just joking but I have to give you a hard time.” His personality was one that was filled with energy, love and mischief. He will be missed dearly.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Tyler; grandparents, Lawrence and Rosalie Bussen; and aunt, Diana Bauman.
He is survived by his daughter, Dakota Bussen of Idaho; parents, Darius Bussen of Sharon Springs, KS and Tracey May of Rupert, ID; grandparents, Gloria and Rusty Parker of ID and Robert Warner of Walsenburg, CO; aunts, Regina (Walt) Madsen and Celia Nicolet; uncles, Rodney (Carol), David, Kevin, Daryl, Terry, Marty (Tammy) and many cousins and friends.
A graveside service will be Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. MT at the Fort Wallace Cemetery in Wallace, Kansas. Memorials will be designated by the family later and may be left at the service or mailed to Bateman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 278, Goodland, KS 67735.
