Virginia (Hillmer) Nothdurft

Virginia (Hillmer) Nothdurft, age 75, of Goodland passed away Friday, September 7, 2018 at her home.  Virginia was born on January 21, 1943 to Ivan and Gloria (Kitchen) Hillmer in Pierre, South Dakota.  

Virginia graduated from Goodland High School, in 1961.  In 1965, she married Jerome Nothdurft and went on to have two children.  At the age of 50 she decided to go back to school.  She attended college at Colby Community College and then went on to Fort Hays State University earning her Bachelor of Science in nursing in 1999.  She worked as a registered nurse at Kit Carson County Correctional Facility for 13 years until her retirement.  She was a hard worker and a loving mother and grandmother.  She enjoyed sewing, yard work, and spending time with her family.  

She is preceded in death by her parents.  

Virginia is survived by her sons: Steve (Karen) of Cañon City, CO; and Brad (Jackie) Nothdurft of Goodland, KS; brothers: Kenneth (Molly) Hillmer of Goodland, KS; and Marlin (Deanna) Hillmer of Goodland, KS; Grandchildren: Dani Donnell of Cañon City, CO; Katlyn Lester of Denver, CO; Kegan Nothdurft of Goodland, KS; Conor Nothdurft of Cañon City, CO; Jaron Nothdurft of Goodland, KS.

Graveside service will be Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 11 a.m. MT at the Goodland Cemetery, 510 North Main Street in Goodland. Visitation will be Monday, September 10, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. MT at Bateman Funeral Home, 211 East 11th Street in Goodland.  Memorials will be designated later and may be left at the services or mailed to Bateman Funeral Home, P.O.
