Goodland, Kansas – Chuck Kribs, age 90, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026, with his daughter by his side.
Born on June 12, 1935, in Walkerville, Ontario, Canada, Chuck was the only son of John (Jack) and Idamae. He grew up in Pennsylvania and New York, where he developed his lifelong passion for hunting, fishing and motor sports. He graduated from Castleton High School in New York then joined the Navy. From there he went on to build a meaningful career in the Aerospace Industry.
Chuck was known for his quick wit, his many adventures, and his storytelling—often shared with enough detail and charm to keep everyone listening. He was happiest when he was hunting or fishing, and he rarely missed a chance to swap a good story, especially if it got a laugh. His greatest joy in life was his family and friends, who will remember him with deep love and more than a few smiles.
He is survived by his daughter, Leisha Kribs, son in law Kevin Wright; his grandchildren, Corin Bahn (Cody Lossie), Ashley Bahn (John Gonzalez), and Kolby Born (Kelli), and Tiana Hall (Wes); His great grandchildren Evelyn and Molly Bahn, Donovan Vela, Kingston Gonzalez, Anthony and Kelsie Lossie, Karley Born, and Ceynna and Rhemi Hall; one great great grandchild Genevieve; and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Idamae, his son Scott Kribs, his daughter Susan Kribs and his grandson Robert (RJ) Bahn.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on June 12, 2026 at 1:00 PM Mountain Time - 2:00 PM Central Time, at St. John Lutheran Church, 405 Ketcham Ave, Bird City, KS 67731.
