David Ray Beckner

David Ray Beckner, age 71, of Kanorado passed away Sunday, June 13, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, MO.

David was born September 2, 1949, to Harvey and Goldie (Cheney) Beckner in Goodland.  He grew up and went to school in Goodland.  On April 1, 1997, he married Georgia Cecil, they renewed their vows in the Methodist Church of Kanorado on April 29, 2003.   David as a young man worked alongside his dad Harvey, roofing, and painting houses.  Later in life he became a truck driver and worked for the City of Salina for 8 years.  His favorite past times were fishing, hunting and being with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Georgia; parents and grandparents; brothers, Bill, Melvin, LeRoy and Stanley; sister, Velma Dewey; and great-nephew, J. Michael Ballentine.

David is survived by his children, Jeff Harris of Kanorado, KS; Lisa Nicols of New Hampshire; Sheri Jackson (Gerald Champine) of Kanorado, KS; brothers, Jerry (Gwen) Beckner of California; Robert (Dorothy) Beckner of Norton, KS; sisters, Virginia (Emerson) Ballentine of Wallace, KS and Caroletta (Roy) Davis of Oakley, KS; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; great-niece, Santana Barnett and many more family and friends.
