Della Helzer

Della Helzer, 66, of Goodland passed away Saturday, October 30, 2016 at Presbyterian St. Luke Hospital in Denver, CO. Born June 21, 1950, she was the daughter of Mary Alice (Brown) and Leslie Elmer Watkins of Goodland. Della graduated from Goodland High School 1968. On April 14, 1968 she married Lyle (Red) Helzer. While Red was in the service they lived at Fort Bragg and Germany, before returning to Goodland. For several years she and Myra Watkins provided a house cleaning service called Magic Carpet. Della also volunteered with Hospice services.

Survivors include her husband Lyle (Red) Helzer of the home; son Jefferey Helzer of Seattle, Washington; sisters Virginia VanVleet of Littleton, Colorado; Katherine (Larry) Wilson of Justin, Texas. Preceded in death by her son Phillip Helzer; brother Bill Watkins; and her parents.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. MST at Emmanual Lutheran Church, 13th & Sherman, Goodland, KS.
