Georgia Van Beckner

Georgia Van (Cecil) Beckner of Kanorado passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018 at her home.  She was born, April 29, 1947 to Glen Dee and Roberta Beryl (Beck) Cecil.  She married her first husband Raymond Harris, August 1967 and they had 3 children, Jeff, Lisa and Sheri.  In her later years they were divorced.  She married the love of her life David Ray Beckner on April 1, 1997, six years later, April 29, 2003 they renewed their vows at the Goodland United Methodist Church.

Georgia grew up and graduated high school in Reading, Massachusetts and graduated in 1966.  As a young girl she worked in department stores and babysat a lot.  After high school she worked for the New England Phone Company doing payroll.  After that she became a caregiver for over 35 years.  Georgia loved caregiving until the day she passed to be with God.  Her favorite past times were cooking, church work (lay leader), and spending time with her family.  Georgia never met a stranger, she befriended all.  In the past few years she belonged to FROG Ministry (Forever Relying On God), she also loved to shop at second hand stores, and watching soaps.

Georgia is survived by her husband, David of Kanorado, KS; son, Jeff Harris of Goodland, KS; daughter, Lisa Nichols of Swanzey, NH; daughter, Sheri Jackson of Kanorado, KS; sister, Lucy Dunn; sister, JoAnn Higgins; sister, Glenda; sister, Kendall; brother, Kenneth; 7 grandchildren and great grandchildren; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins; and her adopted mom, Kay Panciocco; Samia Smith; Maria Mason.

Preceding her in death are her parents; grandparents; cousin, Donald Cecil; step mom Allison Cecil; step grandparents Marion and Robert Grant; brother, Douglas; brother-in-law, Robert Dunn; adopted dad, Frank Panciocco.

Memorial service will be Friday, June 22, 2018 at 2 p.m. MT, at Bateman Funeral Home, 211 East 11th Street in Goodland.  Memorials will be designated to the Kanorado Methodist Church and may be left at the service or mailed to Bateman Funeral Home, P.O.
