Gloria S. Smith, age 78, of Goodland passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021 at the Goodland Regional Medical Center.
She was born January 25, 1943 to Horace and Hazel (Monson) Bass in Ashdown, Arkansas. She grew up and went to school in Arkansas, Texas and Kansas, she graduated from Great Bend High School.
On March 29, 1976, she married James Smith in Hillsboro, Missouri. They moved to Goodland, July 1, 2001. Gloria was a cook and waitress at Hank’s Cafe until she retired in 2016. She was a member of the Goodland Chapter No. 122 Order of the Eastern Star.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, James; and daughter, Alicia Hunter.
Gloria is survived by her daughter, Monica Ford of Goodland; sons: Jack Spangenberg of Salina, KS; Jeffrey Spangenberg of McPherson, KS; James Spangenberg of McPherson, KS; stepson, James Mauler of Broomfield, CO; and many more family and friends.
