Juanita Gladys Fell, 86, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at her home in Goodland, Kansas.
She was born in Kim, Colorado on July 7, 1931, to Ivan and Ola Dean. Juanita married Allen Fell of Doylestown, Pennsylvania on February 4, 1946, in Lamar, Colorado. They met after his service in WWII, where he was awarded a Purple Heart. They were long-time residents of Colby, KS, but also lived in Pennsylvania, California, Texas, and Colorado.
She graduated from Colby Community College in May 1980, at 49 years old, with her GED. Juanita loved to visit with her friends and family. She was a remarkable story teller and could always make people laugh. Juanita loved to travel, she frequently traveled to Colorado, Texas, Iowa and anywhere else her siblings or children lived. Juanita had success in numerous careers throughout her life but her favorite was serving lunch to the children of Colby School District. Juanita was an avid domino player.
She is survived by her children Cecil (Carol) Fell of Alamosa, CO; William Fell of Castle Rock, CO; Richard (Joni) Fell of Sedalia, CO; Elizabeth Edwards of Colby, KS; Nancy Fell (Joe- deceased) of Schertz. TX; John (Michelle) Fell of Centennial, CO; sisters Leta V. Best of Iowa, Edith (Jackie) Ashworth of Kentucky; brother Ferris (Sandy) Dean of New Mexico; 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Allen Fell; son Joe Fell; sisters Margie, Era, Jewell, and Eileen; brothers Gerald, Art, and Lloyd.
A memorial service will be held at the Calvary Gospel Church, 406 College Street, Goodland, Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 11 a.m. MT, with Pastor Randy Payne officiating, a private interment will be later at the Colby Cemetery.
