Judy Kay (Cochrane) Escudero

Judy Kay Escudero, 77, of Goodland, died Monday, August 28, 2017, in Colby.  She was born February 25, 1940, in Sharon Springs, KS, to Roy and Ruth (McGhghy) Cochrane.

Judy attended school in Sharon Springs, KS and graduated from Wallace County High School in 1958.  She was a graduate of the International Career Institute majoring in culinary/catering studies.  She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Prairie Manor nursing home in Sharon Springs, Sharon Springs Western Times Newspaper, cafeteria manager at the Northwest Kansas Technical College for over 25 years before retiring, she also catered and provided services for numerous weddings and special events for many years.  She was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and attended the Kingdom Hall in Goodland and Leadville, CO.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kenneth L. Escudero; brothers, Roy G. (Mickey) Cochrane and Terry Cochrane and ex-husband, Harry L. Escudero.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna (Steve) Price, Goodland; brother, Dennis J. (Marcie) Cochrane, Salina, KS; grandchildren, Jessica (Shea) Vrbka, Goodland,  Lyndsay Price (Kyle Hurst), North Hills, CA, Dallas Price, Denver, CO and Aaron (Tera) Price, Fremont, NE; great grandchildren, Tavis, Delanie and Schuter Vrbka, Vann Hurst, and Lukas, and Noah Price and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation was chosen, a memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. MT, on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Bateman Funeral Home, Goodland.  Memorials will be designated by the family later and may be left at the service or mailed to Bateman Funeral Home, P.O.
