Margie Lee (Durham) Bishop

Marge Bishop passed away Wednesday, March 19th 2025 at Kit Carson Memorial Hospital. Marge was born January 30, 1940 to Arlie "Peck" Durham and Edna Durham in Ringgold, Texas. Marge grew up with her 5 siblings and went to school in Ringgold. Eventually she married and gave birth to her oldest son Arlie Bryant. She later re- married and gave birth to her youngest son Bud Young. Marge wore many caps over the years; as she worked as an early switchboard operator, she was employed by the post office, she later ran her own construction company, did accounting for a large implement dealer, she also owned and operated an auto parts store. But all of that changed while she was running an oil company that she owned, she met a man named Ken Bishop...  eventually Ken convinced Marge to move to Colorado after the two were married in El Paso, Tx on October 6, 1984. Marge has run a successful tax and accounting business since 1984 here in Colorado as many of you well know.

Marge is preceded in death by her parents Arlie " Peck" Durham and

Edna Durham, her siblings L.C. Durham, Loyed Durham, Dickie Duham, Doris Ezzel, and Myra Duff. She is survived by her sons Arlie Bryant of Paradise TX, Delbert "Bud" Young (Kimmy) of Burlington, CO and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Celebration of life will be Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Bateman Funeral Home, 211 East 11th Street, Goodland. Memorials may be designated to Margie Bishop Memorial Fund and may be left at the service or sent in care of Bateman Funeral Home, PO Box 278, Goodland, Kansas 67735.
