Marilyn Faye (Weinaug) Martin entered heaven on June 10, 2017. She was born in New Braunfels, Texas, on January 15, 1934, to Alvin and Katie (Kretzmeier) Weinaug. Marilyn spent her first 18 years living and working on the family homestead in Comal County, Texas.
After graduating from high school in New Braunfels, she moved to San Antonio, Texas, and received a secretarial degree. While attending business college she met her future husband Stanley Martin while on a blind date. They were married March 15, 1953, and moved to Goodland, Kansas, after Stan was discharged from the Air Force.
While her children were young, Marilyn stayed at home creating a loving and nurturing childhood for them, as well as providing child care for many families. For numerous years she was a troop leader for the Blue Birds and Campfire girls, enriching the lives of many young ladies.
In 1973 Marilyn went to work for the Sherman County District Court as a Clerk and Judge Pro Tem. Then in 1974 she began working for the City Office until her retirement in 1996. Marilyn truly enjoyed working for the City and visiting with people throughout the day.
Marilyn loved to do crossword puzzles and play games. She and Stan especially loved playing cards and dominoes with family and friends.
Even though she lived in Goodland for 64 years, she was always a Texas girl at heart and loved going back to Texas to visit her family every chance she could.
Marilyn is survived by her four children: Cynthia (Allan) Worley, Monte (Nancy Schmidt) Martin, Sharon (Bruce) Feikert, and Marla Poppelreiter; six grandchildren: Sarah Worley (Jeremy) Green, Ashley Feikert (Justin) Wright, Amber Feikert (Dustin) Dunn, Andrew (Joni) Feikert, Chantel Poppelreiter, and Brady Poppelreiter; six great-grandchildren: Callie Green, Rylee Green, Cody Wright, Mason Wright, Eastin Dunn and Emersyn Dunn; her sisters: Peggy (Wayne Roberts) Doty, Orline (L.J.)
