Marjorie Joyce Quast

Longtime Goodland resident, Marjorie Joyce Quast, age 80, was called home Friday, April 30, 2021, surrounded by family and friends. She was born October 27, 1940 in Pueblo, Colorado the daughter of Jack and Ruth (Lawrence) Van Ness.  Marge grew up in Lake George and Rye, Colorado and graduated High School in Rye in 1958.  She then attended Western Bible College and the Emily Griffith School of Nursing and graduated with her LPN in 1964.  On January 13, 1965 she married John Quast in Pueblo, to this union four children were born Monica, Dale, Randy and Tohnna.  They moved to Goodland in 1971. Marge was a nurse for 40 plus years, she worked at Good Samaritan Center, Clinic Nurse for Dr McCullough’s Office, Golden West, State of Kansas Homemaker Supervisor, and the Kit Carson Correctional Center in Burlington, CO. She looked forward to summer trips to the Rocky Mountains, camping, fishing, and anything else outdoors and playing cards.  Marge was proud to tell of her college days when she was a figure-eight race car driver.  She dearly loved spending time with her family and her church family, she didn’t know a stranger always chatting and hugging everyone she met and didn’t hesitate to let her family know that the true loves of her life were her grand dogs.  Marge was a member of the Calvary Gospel Church of Goodland. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Ruth Van Ness.
