Patty Lee (Colby) Kirby

Patty Lee (Colby) Kirby, age 79, of Goodland passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at the Goodland Regional Medical Center.  Patty was born March 2, 1939 to Clinton and Wanda (Gleason) Colby in Beloit, Kansas.

Patty grew up in Smith Center and attended school in Harlan, Kansas.  On April 29, 1961, she married Fred G. Kirby in Goodland.  Over the years she worked as a cook at Steiners Drive In. Sunflower Café, Golden West Skills and Cowboy Loop.   She retired from Golden West Skills Center in 2011 after 20 plus years.  Some of her favorite activities were cooking, word search puzzles, listening to Alan Jackson and Elvis, and she truly loved spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren play sports, stock car racing and demolition derby.

She is preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; brother, Don; and brother, Darryl.

Patty is survived by her husband, Fred of Goodland, KS; daughter, Pam Kirby of Goodland, KS; Granddaughter, Adrienne West of Goodland, KS; granddaughter, Tamara West of LaJunta, CO; grandson, Ray (Ashley) West of Goodland; and her 2 great grandchildren, Haygen and Brecklyn.

Funeral service will be Monday, July 30, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. MT at Bateman Funeral Home, 211 East 11th Street in Goodland, interment will follow at the Goodland Cemetery.  Visitation will be Sunday, July 29, 2018 from 5 to 7 p.m. MT at Bateman Funeral Home.  Memorials will be designated later and may be left at the services or mailed to Bateman Funeral Home, P.O.
