Thelma Faye Nelson

Thelma Faye Nelson, 69, of Kanorado, passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Center in Goodland.

Thelma was born May 24, 1948 in Wray, Colorado to Theodore Couch and Caroline Anderson-Waters.  She attended school in Idalia, CO through 7th grade and then attended school in St. Francis, KS.

Thelma loved her animals, she was a horse trainer for 14 years and a 4-H leader for 25 years.  She enjoyed racing and training horses, video games, reading and spending time with her animals.

Preceding her in death were her parents, and step-father Raymond Waters.

She is survived by her daughter Patricia and her husband Tom Johnston of Kanorado, KS; her son James Nelson of Denver, CO; her step-children Shawn and his wife Connie Nelson of Goodland, KS and Shari Torson of Stratton, CO; her brother Charles (Chuck) Waters of Tucson, AZ; 10 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
