Audrey F. (Elfman) Huthansel

Audrey Faye Huthansel, age 71, of Oakley, Kansas passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at Logan County Hospital with her family by her side. 

She was born March 25, 1952, in Devils Lake, North Dakota to Ervin and Beatrice (Glock) Elfman. Audrey was the youngest of 7 kids. She was raised in North Dakota until they moved to Goodland in 1962. She was raised Methodist.

Audrey married Collin Huthansel in 1973. They had 3 daughters. Audrey spent her life working to help others. She managed several convenient stores and worked at a few grocery stores. She was working at Jamboree Foods in Oakley for 14 years until time of death. She made many lifelong friends along the way. Audrey loved bowling, playing darts, playing cards, cooking, singing, bingo, and family picnics at the park.

Preceding her in death are her parents Ervin and Beatrice; daughter Dana; brother Ralph Elfman; niece Stephanie Darby; and nephew David Elfman.

Audrey is survived by her daughters Sonja Hildebrand and Wendy Huthansel of Goodland, KS; son David Schindler of Apple Valley, MN; brother Ervin (Rita) Elfman of Goodland, KS; sisters Elda Blake of Goodland, KS, Lois Canfield of Lander, WY, Avis (Jim) Alcorn of Goodland, KS and Phyllis (John) Darby of Goodland, KS; grandchildren, Ashley Hildebrand of Topeka, KS, Crystal (Tyler) Hornbarger of Elko, NV, Zachary Hildebrand of Goodland, KS, David Schindler, Jr. and Isabelle Schindler of Apple Valley, MN; greatgrandchildren, Eloise and Rhys Hildebrand, and Kaden Hornbarger; and many more family and friends.
