Dusty Dee Baehler, age 56, of Sharon Springs, Kansas passed away Thursday, June 25, 2020 surrounded by his wife and kids. Dusty was born in Wallace County on January 31, 1964 to Harold and Betty (Vincent) Baehler. He grew up and attended school in Winona and Sharon Springs. He graduated from Wallace County High School in 1983. Then he went to Bud Beaston Horse Shoeing School in Sperry, Oklahoma. On June 4th, 1988 he married Christina Lacey in Sharon Springs, Kansas. They had two daughters, Michelle and Lacey.
Dusty worked many years as a rancher but his favorite job was being a ranch manager for Harold Rother Farms. He took pride in building his red cow herd for Shirley. Along with ranching, he enjoyed raising horses with his family and being a member of American Quarter Horse Association. He spent lots of time riding the horses he raised. Additionally, his passion of roping led him to being a member of the United States Team Roping Championships, World Series Team Roping Championship, and Kansas Pro Rodeo Association. Besides ranching and roping, Dusty could be found spending time telling jokes, telling stories, and being the life of the party with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mom, Betty Baehler, his grandparents Hap and Mary Baehler, and his grandparents Vernon and Frances Vincent.
Dusty is survived by his wife, Chris; daughters Michelle (Kent) of Anselmo, Nebraska and Lacey (Gary) of Sharon Springs, Kansas; dad Harold of Sharon Springs, Kansas; brothers Vernon Lee (Tamara) of Moscow, Kansas, and Shawn (Janine) of Sharon Springs, Kansas; grandchildren Caitlin, Tyson, Kali, Kaycee, Karlee, Kyle and Bayler; and many other cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
