Fern Elaine (Jones) Martin

Fern Elaine Martin, age 87, recently of Diboll, Texas passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021. 

Fern was born on December 12, 1933, in Thomas County, Kansas, the daughter of P.C. and Helen (Tuttle) Jones.  She grew up in Sherman County.  Fern graduated from Brewster High School in 1951 and then attended Fort Hays State College.  She taught 4th grade in the Colby and Goodland schools.

Fern married Robert R. Martin on August 2, 1956 in Goodland. They moved to Denver, CO in 1961. She was active in the Lutheran Church and was a 4H sewing leader for many years.  Fern enjoyed reading, playing cards and being with family and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; parents and grandparents; daughter, Joni Martin; sisters, June (Boyd) Miller, Jean (Bob) Warren, Marjorie (Joe) Stegman. 

She is survived by her son, Robert Jr. (Donialin) of Diboll, TX; sister, Betty (Larry) Kear of Salina, KS; brothers, Dick (Joyce) Jones of Parker, CO and John (Cindy) Jones of Liberal, KS; and her grandson, Matthew Martin of Denver, CO.
