Joyce (Bohl) French

Joyce (Bohl) French, age 76, of Salina, Kansas, went to be with the Lord our Savior on September 12, 2020 in Lindsborg, Kansas.  She was born August 12, 1944 to Harvey and Joy (Devalt) Bohl in Elkhart, Kansas.  She grew up and went to school in Walsh, Colorado. 

Joyce was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Salina, Kansas.  She loved God and loved telling her grandkids Bible stories.  She enjoyed teaching preschool Sunday school classes, serving in the church nursery, traveling to see family, reading and dearly loved spending time with her family. 

Preceding her in death are her parents, grandparents and sister, Loretta Dunnam. 

She is survived by her daughter, Judy (Larry) Ostrander of Hastings, NE; son, James French of Lewellen, NE; daughter, Jackie (Mark) Buller of Goodland, KS; son, John French of Lewellen, NE; daughter, Jane ( Brian) Kearn of Salina, KS; and daughter, Jody (Chris) Meister of David City, NE; brother,  Harold (Elaine) Bohl of Lamar, CO; grandchildren: Tysen, Amber (Bobby), Janelle, Justin, Kylie (Patrick), Stephen (Grace), Kelsea, Ethan and JC; 11 greatgrandchildren; and many more family and friends. 

Graveside service will be Thursday, September 17, 2020 at 11 a.m. MT at the Walsh Cemetery, 45050 County Road DD, in Walsh.  Visitation will be Wednesday, September 16, 2020 from 5 to 7 p.m. MT at Bateman Funeral Home, 211 East 11th Street, Goodland. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at the Community Wesleyan Church in Lewellen, Nebraska at 11 a.m. MT.  

Memorials may be made to the Joyce French Memorial Fund and will be designated by the family to the Wesleyan Church or the Alzheimer’s Association and may be left at the services or sent in care of Bateman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 278, Goodland, Kansas 67735.
