Louis Aguilar, age 64, of Goodland passed away Friday, September 14, 2018 at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Louis was born November 22, 1953 to Manuel and Erlinda (Vasquez) Aguilar in Del Rio, Texas.
Louis grew up in Mexico, Texas and Kansas and came to Goodland in 1969. He was married to Bertha Hurst for 40 years. He was a self-employed master of all trades including roofing, trucking, painting and tree trimming. He was a member of the Promise Land Baptist Church. Louis enjoyed attending church, playing guitar, listening to music, visiting family, watching cowboy movies and Walker Texas Ranger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, John Aguilar and a son Espiririon “Speedy” Aguilar.
Louis is survived by his wife Bertha; sons: Louis Jr. (Holly) Aguilar of Overbrook, KS; and Isreal (Taylor) Aguilar of Lawrence, KS; daughters: Tina (Ken) Webel of Shawnee, KS; and Rebecca (Jesse) Pitchford of Derby, KS; daughters-in-law Haylee (Mark) Wilder of Calhan, CO; and Kathleen (Raynard) Skeet of Farmington, New Mexico; sisters: Millie Perez of Gering, NE; and Alicia Aguilar of Kansas City, MO; brothers: Felix Aguilar of Eufala, OK; and Tony Aguilar of Denver, CO; 27 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 2 p.m. MT at Bateman Funeral Home, 211 East 11th Street in Goodland. Visitation will be Friday, September 21, 2018 from 4 to 6 p.m. MT at Bateman Funeral Home. Memorials will be designated later and may be left at the services or mailed to Bateman Funeral Home, P.O.
