Longtime Goodland resident, Robert Gale Lamb, age 73, passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Denver.
Bob was born February 2, 1948 to Ray C. and Mary Lillian (Gibson) Lamb in Goodland. He grew up and went to school in Tumwater, Washington. Bob served in the United States Marine Corps from June 1965 to May 1969, serving in Vietnam and the United States Army National Guard from September 1982 to February 1992, called to active duty for Operation Desert Storm. On May 31, 1993 he married Shirley Smith in Goodland. Bob worked as a Patrol Sergeant and Firearms Instructor at the Goodland Police Department and Deputy Sheriff and Firearms Instructor at the Sherman County Sheriff’s Department in Goodland for 28 years, he retired in 2001. Bob enjoyed fishing, bowling, camping, competition shooting, his train collection and most of all spending time with his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents; brothers, Randy and Russell; and sisters, Carol Rodgers and JoAnn Holton.
Bob is survived by his wife, Shirley; daughters, Sonda (Eddie) Ridgway of Hallsville, MO, Samantha Lamb of Goodland and Ashley Brown of Meadville, PA; sons, Travis (Michelle) Lamb, Justin (Lela) Lamb, Thomas (Frances) Lamb of Goodland and Josh (Maranda) Lamb of Richland, NC; brothers, Richard (Donna) Nass of Aurora, CO, Michael (Shirley) Lamb of Cassville, MO, Pat (Laura) Lamb of St. Francis; sisters, Rachael (Larry) Enfield of Goodland, Violet (Ron) Weis of Goodland, Mona (Jim) Carver of Goodland, Gloria (Cory) Cummings of Grand Junction, CO; 14 grandchildren; and many more family and friends.
