Shirley J. (Beedy) Shull

Shirley Shull, age 86, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023 in Wichita, Kansas.

Shirley was born October 16, 1936 to William Fredrick and Blanche Alice (Doerfer) Beedy in Goodland, Kansas. She grew up in Goodland and graduated from Sherman Community High School in 1954. On June 10, 1956 she married John Shull at the Calvary Gospel Church.

Shirley worked as a cook and cashier at IGA, Northwest Kansas Technical College and Walmart. She moved to Wichita in 2006 to be closer to her family. She was a member of the Calvary Gospel Church of Goodland, Bethel Life Center and Believers Tabernacle of Wichita.  She enjoyed square dancing when younger, cooking for her family, camping in Colorado, attending church, knitting, reading and dearly loved spending time with her family and friends.

Preceding her in death are her parents, husband John, and her brothers Donald and Lonn.

She is survived by her daughters Debra (Dave) Sirota of Potwin, KS and Rebecca (Randy) Peters of Wichita, KS, son Lonny Shull of Pahoa, HI; 5 grandchildren and 6 greatgrandchildren; and many more family and friends.

Funeral service will be Monday, October 16, 2023 at 11 a.m. MT at the Calvary Gospel Church, 6296 Highway 27, Goodland. Interment following the service at the Goodland Cemetery, North Main Street. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. MT at Bateman Funeral Home, 211 East 11th Street, Goodland.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be designated to Shirley Shull Memorial Fund and will be designated by the family to the American Diabetes Association and may be left at the services or sent in care of Bateman Funeral Home, P.O.
