Steve Alan Zeigler

Steve Alan Zeigler, age 69, of Goodland passed away Thursday, August 31, 2023.  Steve was born May 5, 1954, to William A. and Ila D. (Smith) Zeigler in El Paso, Texas. He grew up and went to school in Goodland, graduating from Goodland High School in 1973. Steve attended Northwest Kansas Technical College Autobody Program.

Steve worked in autobody repair in Colorado Springs for many years before returning to Goodland to be closer to his family. He worked as custodian for Goodland USD 352 for 18 years and retired in 2016.  He was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Goodland, Christian Motorcycle Association God’s Road Warriors of Colorado Springs, and Goodland Elks Lodge member. Steve enjoyed riding his motorcycle, playing Bingo and spending time with his family and friends.

Steve is survived by his Aunt Dorothy Roeder and Uncle and Aunt Donald and Bonnie Smith of Goodland; Aunt Annabelle McDaniel of Scott City, KS; many cousins; best friend Charlotte Hankins and her sons Marvin and Brent; and many more friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, and brother Jerry.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 11 a.m. MT at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 222 West 13th Street, Goodland. Interment following the service at the Goodland Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, 4 to 6 p.m. MT at Bateman Funeral Home, 211 East 11th Street, Goodland.
